Type 03 Ring Sensor Product Highlight

Low Maintenance, non-intrusive pH Sensor for Liquids with Suspended Solids

The Type 03 Ring pH electrode’s rugged Glasteel™ design accurately measures pH in applications where conventional sensors are unstable, drift, and experience short service life due to wear or plugging from suspended solids. Operators install ring style sensors in-line between two flanges, directly in the product flow. The smooth enamel finish uses the flow to keep the surface of the sensor clean while resisting any potential product buildup that may occur. Working in conjunction with a pressurized liquid electrolyte delivery system, the Ring is resistant to fouling of the reference electrode.

The Type 03 Ring pH sensor offers the following benefits over traditional glass technology:

  • No intrusion into process piping
  • Single point calibration
  • Resistant to poisoning and fouling
  • Dry storage, or left in process dry
  • Not affected by organics
  • Mounted in any orientation

Type O3 Ring pH Sensor Anatomy

1 – SENSOR MATERIAL: Glasteel ™

  • Resistant to most corrosive substances, even under extreme thermal conditions.
  • Essentially inert, so it cannot adversely affect product purity or flavor.
  • Resists the buildup of viscous or sticky products, leading to better heat transfer, less frequent cleaning and higher performance.
  • Strong: fusing glass to steel produces high strength, corrosive resistant composite.

2 – REFERENCE ELECTRODE: Hydrogen Sensitive

Glasteel enamel band sensitive to hydrogen ions in the process

3 – SENSOR DESIGN: Open

No sensor insertion eliminates obstruction of the process and reduces wear

4 – ELECTROLYTE CONNECTION: Pressurized

Pressurized liquid electrolyte prevents plugging of the sensor diaphragm

5 – GASKETS: Graphite

Abrasion-resistant graphite gaskets for protection of sensor while in operation
