SensoGate WA 131 M Disassembly

Learn how to disassemble the SensoGate WA 131 M retractable holder prior to seal replacement.

Preparation

We will be removing both the process connection and the cleaning and calibration chamber from the drive system in preparation for seal replacement. I will be using the service tool set, which you can purchase separately. Its design allows for easy maintenance, repair, and retrofitting of the device. For this process we will be specifically using the Torx screwdriver, spanning wrench #1, pliers and spanning wrench #5.

Disassembly

Let’s begin by separating the drive system from the cleaning and calibration chamber. First, you’ll want to ensure that the sensor is in the service position. Then, using spanning wrench #1, we will loosen the coupling nut to separate the drive from the cleaning and calibration chamber. We will then fully remove the drive system off of the cleaning and calibration chamber.

Next, we’ll remove the immersion tube. To do this, put the sensor and fitting into the process position by pressing the red lock button and turning the manual drive. Once it is fully installed in the process position, two Torx screws will be visible, which hold the immersion tube in place. We’ll use the TX 25 Torx screwdriver from our service tool set to loosen and remove these two screws. This allows the tube to turn counterclockwise. Align the tab, so that you can pull and remove the tube from the assembly.

The next step is to separate the cleaning and calibration chamber from the process connection. To do so, we’ll use our TX 25 screwdriver again, to loosen and remove the two screws that hold the pieces together. Next, position the pliers in the two grooves located underneath the screw connections, and remove the cleaning and calibration chamber from the process connection using spanning wrench #5 from our service tool set. Finally using an adjustable wrench, we’ll loosen and remove both the inlet and outlet fittings from our cleaning and calibration chamber.

Final Steps

With these components completely disassembled, it’s now time to remove the old seals and scraper rings prior to replacement. After replacing the seals, reassemble the SensoGate by following these steps in reverse order. Continue on to our next video,  which demonstrates complete seal replacement of the SensoGate WA 131 M manual retractable holder.
